The COSTA BLANCA, also called the ‘white coast’, names a part of the coast, about 90 miles long, located in the province of Alicante. The region starts right up in the north with the Cabo de la Nao near Jávea and ends in the south with the Cabo de Palos near Cartagena.
The name ‘Costa Blanca’ has been created in cause of the traditional whitewashed houses and the shining white beaches against the lovely blue of the sea, which is also represented in the blue and white flag of the province Alicante.
The world health organisation (WHO) in Geneve attested the Costa Blanca the healthiest climate of the world. With mild winters and comfortably hot summers, with about 300 days of sunshine, the region is a flowering and green area, especially in the north of Alicante. Already in January the almonds are beginning to flower and between October and April is the time to gather oranges and lemons. The miles of white beaches with deep cliffs and turquoise coves, as well as the mountains in the back, are inviting to wonder around and to discover a true and amazing varied nature.
Lots of culture programs, sports, many possibilities to go shopping, english medical care and also the fantastic infrastructure with super-highways and two airports nearby, are giving a well-rounded atmosphere to this location.
